Birth Certificate: Hoax or Hoax?

obama_birthcert3

I’ve avoided this topic like the plague, but since it has gained more attention as of late, I thought I’d put in my two cents.

The POTUS has refused demands to present his birth certificate.  He has put forth a “Certification of Live Birth” from Hawaii, but that isn’t actual evidence that he was born there.  This is reliably verified. The controversy was initially mentioned in the campaign, and it has gained traction since his inauguration.  Legal challenges have been made, and military personnel have refused to serve under his command. WND, in particular, has been reporting extensively on it, and has gone to the point of buying billboard space to promote awareness of it.

When this issue really started “taking off,” it reminded me of some of the “dirty tricks” the Clinton Administration used to play.  They would “leak” false information, and hope that talk radio would jump on it.  Then, once the right got outraged about it, they’d reveal the truth (or at least a less controversial lie).  Obviously, this was an attempt to not only misdirect the right, but to also discredit talk show hosts, magazines, websites, and so on.  Thankfully, this taught the right to fact check a bit more, and it wasn’t terribly successful in discrediting them.

Knowing the dishonesty of the left, does the POTUS have his birth certificate, and is allowing the right to waste time, money, and credibility to reveal a “false lie?”  I don’t know.  But doing so would have some benefits for the administration:

  • It could discredit the right, from the web, all they way to the Tea Parties.  No matter how important or insignificant this is to the right, the MSM will tar and feather the entire movement with it.  Obviously, discrediting the right would make the resistance to the legislative agenda less effective.
  • Any effort to reveal the truth about the birth certificate is effort NOT being spent fighting the POTUS’s legislative agenda.
  • Revealing the birth certificate at a later date may discourage many on the right, and cause them to be silent.

Let me say that I mean no disrespect towards WND, or it’s creator, Joseph Farah.  I visit WND regularly, and it’s frequently a source for this blog.  I’ve often been able to get something up on my blog before others because of WND.  However, I have to propose this as a possibility, simply because others on the left have perpetrated similar hoaxes in the past.

Now, we also have to consider the potential consequences if this is true.  What if the POTUS is NOT a US citizen, and is therefore ineligible to be president?  What would happen then?  This is my take:

  • The left goes into crisis mode, which I think is their favorite.  There’s so much exploiting to do in a crisis!
  • The MSM uniformly reports that this is an attack on our “democracy.”  After all, the people elected him, right?  The slanted reporting against the right will become increasingly shrill, to the point where it simply becomes an attack, fanning the flames for the left.
  • All the lefty groups, from ACORN, down to the rent-a-mob, will plan and orchestrate massive protests.  They will be violent and bloody.  Consider it the “mother of all temper tantrums” from the left.  It might be the kind of widespread rioting not seen in this country since the 60’s.    Imagine Katrina-New Orleans and the Rodney King riots times ten.
  • Leftists from every foreign government will denounce the “blatant fascism” of the Conservatives in the US.
  • Joe Biden becomes the POTUS (SHUDDERS)
  • Barak Hussein Obama (Note this is the first time I’ve actually written the man’s name on this blog) becomes a martyr of sorts, giving Biden, Pelosi, and the others more political capital to ram their legislation through.  They’ll posit that his removal from office was to resist “change” rather than the rule of law.
  • The crisis created by the left’s temper tantrums allows for the government to start restricting people’s rights at an unprecedented level.  It’s an EMERGENCY, after all!  They’ll count on a frightened public to give many of their rights away.

Don’t get me wrong.  If the man isn’t eligible, he can’t serve, it’s as simple as that.  We do, however, have to be aware of the potential results.  We should prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

For me, I actually hope that this is some sort of deception by the left.  His approval numbers are dropping, and his legislative agenda is starting to stall.  People are starting to wake up.  Eventually, his policies will cause the recession/depression to deepen.  I firmly believe that this will lead to Republican victories in 2010 and 2012.  In the end, I’d like to see this guy defeated based on ideology and facts, rather than by a “technicality.”  (And that’s how the left will portay it) Not only do we have a great opportunity to defeat Barak Obama, but we also have a chance to defeat his ideas.  That, my friends, should be our Holy Grail.  If we can defeat the idea of socialism, no matter how it is packaged, we set the left back by at least a decade.  They won’t go away-they never will, but we can count on millions of Americans knowing how the left hurt them-because the left will  hurt them.

Cops tasered 3 kids, threatened one with sodomy

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

A shelter for adolescents in southern Illinois is suing the local sheriff’s office for what it describes as an unprovoked attack by two police officers on four children, three of whom were tasered, and one of whom was threatened with sodomy by a sheriff’s deputy.

The Southern Thirty Adolescent Center near Mount Vernon, IL, filed the lawsuit on behalf of three children in its custody, who the lawsuit says were tasered by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies who had been called to help subdue two misbehaving children, aged 11 and 12. Neither of those children were among those who were tasered during what one news service described as a police “rampage.”

The incident took place on July 4, 2008. The federal lawsuit was filed in an East St. Louis court on Friday. In the suit the children are named only by their initials: B.B., R.E., and Z.P.

According to the legal filing, quoted in the Mount Vernon Register, one deputy “physically pushed R.E. towards his bunk and shocked him repeatedly with a taser. … R.E. was tased multiple times to multiple locations on his person, including, but not limited to, his neck. Deputy Bowers shouted to B.B. to lie down in his bunk and physically forced him to lie down.

“Without physical provocation and/or physical gestures from B.B., Deputy Bowers held B.B. down on his bed and shocked him repeatedly with a taser. While he was tasing B.B., Deputy David Bowers threatened to sodomize B.B. As a result of this repeated and excessive tasing, B.B. urinated and defecated himself. Deputy David Bowers was aware that B.B. urinated himself after the tasing.”

The filing goes on to say that a 17-year-old female visitor to the center, who had pleaded with police to stop the attack, was grabbed by an officer, choked, and locked in a closet.

From the Mount Vernon Register, quoting the legal filing:

“As Z.P. was being repeatedly tased, [17-year-old] Megan Geisler pleaded with Deputy David Bowers and Deputy Lonnie Lawler to stop. Deputy David Bowers ordered Deputy Lonnie Lawler to handcuff Megan Geisler. … Deputy David Bowers grabbed Megan Geisler by her arms, lifted her off her feet, and carried her through the male dormitory to a nearby closet. On the way to the closet, Deputy David Bowers lifted Megan Geisler off the ground, pressed her against a wall and choked her. While choking her, Deputy David Bowers said, ‘do you want to live or die bitch’ to Megan Geisler. Megan Geisler was then thrown into a closet. At this time she began vomiting and heaving.”

According to AP, no criminal charges have been filed in the case, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says the deputies “acted appropriately.”

The Illinois Department of Family and Child Services told southern Illinois’ WSIL-TV that “shocking children with Tasers can result in serious physical and mental injury. Use of these weapons is especially troubling in cases where the children involved have committed no crime and have not even been charged with wrong doing.”

$80,000 for every American

According to the watchdog overseeing the federal government’s financial bailout program, the full exposure since 2007 amounts to a whopping $23.7 trillion dollars, or $80,000 for every American citizen.

The last time we were able to get a measure of the total cost of the bailout, it stood at around $8.5 trillion dollars. Eight months down the line and that figure has almost tripled.

The $23.7 trillion figure comprises “about 50 initiatives and programs set up by the Bush and Obama administrations as well as by the Federal Reserve,” according to the Associated Press.

In testimony which will be delivered to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee tomorrow, Neil Barofsky, the inspector general for the TARP, will tell Congress that “the Treasury Department has repeatedly failed to adopt recommendations aimed at making the TARP program more accountable and transparent.”

According to Barofsky, taxpayers are in the dark as to who has received the money and what they are doing with it.

As we have repeatedly highlighted, the destination of some $2 trillion in TARP funds was the subject of a lawsuit filed by Bloomberg late last year after the Fed refused to disclose the recipients. The suit is still ongoing as Bloomberg attempts to discover names of private financial institutions that received the money.

The American people will ultimately pick up the tab as their dollar is devalued because the Fed lends the money from its own balance sheet or essentially just prints more money, as a San Francisco Chronicle article explained last year.

Wages will not keep pace with inflation and if we add to the equation the raft of new taxes being introduced by the Obama administration, the consequences are clear – another lowering of the living standard for millions of middle class Americans.

Meanwhile, Henry Paulson, one of the chief architects of the bailout and the man who committed financial terrorism by threatening the Congress with martial law and food riots if they didn’t pass the initial TARP package, brazenly pockets $200,000 in Goldman Sachs profits tax free while handing out billions in ill-gotten gains to his bankster buddies, all this after he pulled a bait and switch by changing the entire focus of the bailout from buying up toxic debt to giving money directly to financial institutions.

We dread to think what the bailout figure will be in another eight months. Will it triple again to $70 trillion dollars? How about $100 trillion dollars?

The only thing that can bring an end to the wanton looting is Ron Paul’s bill to audit the Fed, which has received overwhelming support in the House but is being blocked by the bought and paid for traitors in the Senate who would rather see a continuation of the grand larceny rather than real accountability and

transparency.
