Pa. police shooting of unarmed teen probed
A prosecutor in south-central Pennsylvania says he’s investigating whether a police officer was justified in shooting a 17-year-old boy in the face.Dauphin County Assistant District Attorney Fran Chardo says the 17-year-old boy shot by a Harrisburg police officer Wednesday night was unarmed. Chardo says the officer told investigators that the teen was running directly at him and ignored orders to stop. The officer said he was backed up against a car and couldn’t get out of the way of the charge.The teen was identified by family members as Leonard Howze. A lawyer for his family, Spiro Lappas, says Howze is in critical but stable condition.
