Hate Crimes Prevention Act Sets Foundation To Destroy Free Speech In The U.S.
As everybody is being distracted by the vastly overhyped swine flu hysteria, the U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 which will serve as a mechanism to destroy free speech. This legislation will allow the federal government to provide support for state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies in the prosecution of any crime if it is believed to be motivated by prejudice based on race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. This bill sets the foundation for the government to impose greater penalties on individuals who have a belief system that might be perceived to be prejudiced against any particular group of people. Clearly, this bill is designed to setup the building blocks to destroy what’s left of the First Amendment.
Below is the section in the bill that would allow the federal government to build the infrastructure necessary to support state, local or tribal law enforcement agencies to prosecute so called hate crimes.
SEC. 3. SUPPORT FOR CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS AND PROSECUTIONS BY STATE, LOCAL, AND TRIBAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS.
(1) IN GENERAL- At the request of a State, local, or tribal law enforcement agency, the Attorney General may provide technical, forensic, prosecutorial, or any other form of assistance in the criminal investigation or prosecution of any crime that–
(A) constitutes a crime of violence;
(B) constitutes a felony under the State, local, or tribal laws; and
(C) is motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim, or is a violation of the State, local, or tribal hate crime laws.
What’s crazy about this legislation is that what defines a hate crime is based entirely off of subjective reasoning. So in essence, certain political points of view including particular religious points of view by an individual could potentially implicate them in a hate crime. Undoubtedly, this is an incredibly dangerous bill and unfortunately it will most likely be passed in the U.S. Senate and signed into law by the President.
There simply is no need for a law like this. If you kill someone it is not relevant if the criminal had some sort of issue with the victim’s race, gender or religion. There are already too many laws defining criminal behavior and now this bill seeks to add additional crimes layered in with already existing offenses based upon how a crime might have been perceived to be carried out. This is an obvious attempt to destroy what’s left with the First Amendment and further train people to be forced into a mental box of politically correct thought and speech.

PEOPLE ARE SO IGNORANT OF HISTORY
THEY ACTUALLY WELCOME THIS OPPRESSIVE

THE LONGER WE ALLOW THIS CRAP TO CONTINUE
THE BIGGER THE PRICE IN BLOOD TO RE TAKE OUR
NATION
IF WE EVER DO
I FIGURE IF THERE IS AN UPRISING, THEY WILL BRING
IN FOREIGN TROOPS THEY WILL NOT CARE IF THEY
SHOOT AMERICANS OR NOT.
THE CENSUS ID OF YOUR FRONT DOOR GPS MAPSPOT
IS REALLY SCARY.
I FIGURE IF , WHEN THEY PUT OUT THE WORD TO DISARM,
AND THEY KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE, AND THEY HAVE NO
RECORD OF YOU TURNING IN YOUR ARMS, THEY JUST
DIRECT A BOMB THRU YOUR FRONT DOOR.

I WONDER WHAT WILL COME OF LITERATURE THAT TEACHES THAT HOMOSEX IS A HORRIBLE, UNHEALTHY THING

Subjective reasoning and more importantly subjective redundancy as emotional support for prosecution. Murder or violence is just what they are, crimes. There already exist laws for the punishment of the guilty and convicted. This is a more important step towards incorporating the emotion and replacing the objectivity of the process. Hate crimes alone as a term is an oxymoron. Crimes are usually hateful aren’t they? The end result of the crime will no longer be the concern. The motivation will become the pre-disposition and mindset, and with it the need for more laws and controls designed at prevention. Yes, the First Amendment will be abridged and destroyed under the banner of crime prevention and a false sense of security. To answer Mary Belmans’ question, certsin types of literature will become first suspect, second politically incorrect and un-popular with the masses, third dropped from libraries and retail shelves for simple economic reasons. People will distance themselves from anything not popular with their peers. This time around, there won’t be public book burnings, but rather a culling of literature through recycling efforts. To all reading this, when was the last time you called, wwrote or contacted your electorate to voice your opinions and directions concerning this or any issue?

How do we rationalize and prove beyond a reaonal doubt that the kiling of a person was hate( of race religion?or do just the blacks, hispanics, gays and “protected class of ciitizens get to see their attackers “supersought” by law.DOes one not have to “hate ” another to kill him?The hate portion already is identified.just seems to me thtat such a law is aimed at being more poitically correct and widening the gbarriers that isolate differencesbetween people than pointed toward jurispridence and equal rights for all.In my own City a teenage black
kid shiot and killed a teenage white kid at a movie theatre.reortedly due to th e rebel flag dispayed on the wite teen’s truck no hate crime here,However, sympathyfor the gun man and disain for the dispay of th rebel flag. What the hell was the black kid doing with a gun at the movie theatre? The City is more known for its cuture, arts, and beaches than its crime

It just amazes me how quickly some of you so called Americans have forgotten how this country was formed and what the intent of our Forefathers was when they started this country and it’s government. This country was founded on being free! Free to vote and voice your opinions, free to worship in any religion you choose. Free to arm yourself to protect your freedoms, yourself, your property and your family from any harm. Free from control of the government! Our Forefathers set up our government to work for the people by the people and NOT work for its self or for the members in government’s own gain!
I am so sick of this politically correct crap! If you don’t like it here, get out! This is not a country of or for cry babies and whinners. This country would not have lasted this long if that was the case. This country has not survived this long because of loafers, freeloaders or lazy “I want you to take care of me” people. Get off your rearend and start providing for yourself!
If you were born in this country, you are an American!! Not Asain American, not Afracan American or any other whatever American. You are an American!! Period! In this country we speak English! If you want to live here, work here, drive here, learn it!
Everyone in this country has the same opportunities as the next person and it is up to each and everyone of us to reach our full potential and to go as far as talent will take us. If you don’t make it or you are not successful, it is no one elses fault but your own! People need to stop blaming everyone else for their own short comings and let’s get this country back on it’s feet and on the path our Forefathers intended it to be!
