The 60s were a tumultuous time in America. There were the Vietnam War and its subsequent peace movement; the Kennedy assassinations; the Martin Luther King assassination, and the mass shooting at the University of Texas by Charles Whitman. The high-profile assassinations and the mass shooting prompted the government to lobby for stronger gun control, leading to the passage of the unconstitutional, NRA supported, 1968 Gun Control Act.

With the exception of the Vietnam War and its protest activity, all of the above events played into the hands of the state and its never-ending efforts to disarm private citizens. While the only common denominator in the University of Texas shooting involved the use of mind altering drugs by the shooter, the three assassinations were similar in accusations of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) involvement was alleged in each of them.

It was reported that President Lyndon Johnson was moved by the University shooting to move for stronger gun control; the facts of the case supported just the opposite. After Whitman killed his mother and wife by stabbing them to death, he went to the University Tower where his next victim, Edna Townsley, a receptionist, was butt-stroked with a rifle, which led to her death. Whitman had in essence killed three people before he pulled the trigger the first time.

When victims began to fall from shots fired by Whitman from the University Tower, several civilians secured weapons from their cars and began to return fire at Whitman along with police on the scene. The combined efforts of these civilians and the police forced Whitman to shoot from waterspouts, greatly limiting his ability to acquire additional targets. Had it not been for the deployment of private arms by civilians, the toll of lives lost and those wounded would have been much larger. Yet, the state used this tragedy to move for more draconian firearms possession limitations on private citizens.

Conspiracy theories abound concerning the assassinations of president John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King. As mentioned above, the CIA is mentioned as possibly being involved in all three. We do know the CIA lied about aspects of the JFK assassination. Lies are usually told to hide the truth; what truth was the CIA covering up for 40 years, and why? Why did the CIA withhold evidence from the Warren Commission and defy court orders?

Did the CIA use their “controlled” sources in the media to demonize and ridicule any who found irregularities in the “Pablum” force-fed to the masses concerning the assassination? An April 1^st 1967, CIA dispatch, declassified through the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) in 1976, advised the CIA’s “assets” in the media on “Countering criticism of the Warren Report.” These “assets” were instructed features and book revues to be “particularly appropriate” for this purpose. These controlled media sources were to “answer and refute” those critical of the state’s explanation of events by claiming “financial interests” and to allege they were “hasty and inaccurate in their research” and “infatuated with their own theories.” These CIA stooges in the media were instructed to emphasize in their reporting, “no new significant evidence has emerged,” and there was no consistency of thought among the critics. Critics were to be discredited by claiming they were “wedded to theories before all the evidence was in.” Also used was the claim consistently heard about all possible conspiracies involving the state: “Conspiracy on such a large scale would be impossible to conceal.”

The FBI, Secret Service, and the Dallas Police Department withheld evidence from the Warren Commission. As the commission had no investigators of its own, and depended entirely on the above-mentioned agencies for evidence, the credibility of the report must be questioned.

If questioning the veracity of the state’s official report on the JFK assassination and the withholding and suppression of evidence by those tasked with pursuing the truth makes me a “conspiracy nut,” pass the tinfoil.

Allegations of CIA and other state agency’s involvement in the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. have been made by aides and members of the King family. Coretta Scott King said, “There is abundant evidence of a major high level conspiracy in the assassination of my husband…” Dexter King, son of Martin Luther King Jr., who met with James Earl Ray before his death and stated he believed Ray did not kill his father, also stated his father was assassinated “because he challenged the establishment.” Dexter King also referred to the official investigation and findings as “the most incredible cover-up of the century.”

Martin Luther King Jr. had been under surveillance by the FBI, CIA and Army Intelligence for an extended period of time before his assassination because he supposedly represented a threat to national security. His phones were tapped, he was under continual surveillance, his rooms were bugged and his followers infiltrated. Yet, he was assassinated in plain sight and none of the above agencies had a clue as to the plans or movements of the assassin.

The FBI was assigned the task of investigating the assassination of the man they considered a threat to national security and a subject of their “dirty tricks” associated with COINTEL-PRO activities.

Author Alex Constantine, in his work, Virtual Government: CIA Mind Control Operations in America, has exhaustively documented the CIA’s influence in the media through Operation Mockingbird. When a government agency has the ability to control the content of information disseminated to the masses, is that not a form of mind control?

The state used all of the above highly questionable events to propose and pass the 1968 Gun Control Act. The wording of this piece of legislation was taken almost word for word from the 1938 Nazi Gun Control Act. The 1968 GCA is not the state’s only connection with Nazi programs. How many are familiar with the CIA’s connection with Nazi war criminals?

Let me see now; The 1968 Gun Control Act is a re-do of the 1938 Nazi Gun Control Act; The CIA had a Nazi war criminal connection from its very inception; The CIA is alleged to have involvement in several high-profile assassinations in America; The CIA uses its rented mules (Operation Mockingbird) in the mainstream media (MSM) to demonize and marginalize anyone who seeks to investigate the irregularities in the state-issued reports of these assassinations and other possible covert actions; Our form of government has morphed from a republic to in-your-face fascism, and anyone who believes there is a connection between the state and mass shootings is a conspiracy nut!

Perhaps due to the genetic makeup of the fast-spreading H1N1 strain of influenza — which includes genetic elements from bird flu, swine flu and human flu spanning three continents — there is considerable speculation that the origins of this virus are man-made.

It’s not an unreasonable question to ask: Could world governments, spooked by the prospect of radical climate change caused by over-population of the planet, have assembled a super-secret task force to engineer and distribute a super virulent strain of influenza designed to “correct” the human population (and institute global Martial Law)?

Technically, it’s possible. The U.S. military, all by itself, has the know-how to engineer and unleash such a virus. That doesn’t mean they’ve done so, however. It would be an astonishing leap into crimes against humanity to intentionally unleash such a biological weapon into the wild.

Then again, governments of the world have routinely engaged in crimes against humanity, haven’t they? The U.S., for example, dropped nuclear bombs on civilian populations in Japan. Israel rained white phosphorous on Palestinians, Hitler exterminated countless Jews, and Americans fired millions of rounds of depleted uranium rounds into targets in Iraq and Afghanistan. Unleashing a viral biological weapon in Mexico City is no great leap beyond what governments have already done to achieve their goals.

Throughout human history, virtually all the great crimes against humanity have been carried out by governments — mostly in the name of peace, prosperity and security, by the way. So let’s be clear about one thing: Governments are certainly capable of doing this if properly motivated. Let there be no question about that.

As of this moment, I have not personally seen any conclusive evidence of laboratory origins for this H1N1 swine flu. I am open to the possibility that new evidence may emerge in this direction, however, and I am suspicious of the genetic makeup of the virus as one possible indicator of its origins.

I am not a medical specialist in the area of infectious disease, but I have studied microbiology, genetics and a considerable amount of material on pandemics. What seems suspicious to me is the hybrid origin of the viral fragments found in H1N1 influenza. According to reports in the mainstream media (which has no reason to lie about this particular detail), this strain of influenza contains viral code fragments from:

• Human influenza
• Bird Flu from North America
• Swine flu from Europe
• Swine flu from Asia

This is rather astonishing to realize, because for this to have been a natural combination of viral fragments, it means an infected bird from North America would have had to infect pigs in Europe, then be re-infected by those some pigs with an unlikely cross-species mutation that allowed the bird to carry it again, then that bird would have had to fly to Asia and infected pigs there, and those Asian pigs then mutated the virus once again (while preserving the European swine and bird flu elements) to become human transmittable, and then a human would have had to catch that virus from the Asian pigs — in Mexico! — and spread it to others. (This isn’t the only explanation of how it could have happened, but it is one scenario that gives you an idea of the complexity of such a thing happening).

The Al Mezan Center for Human Rights is a Gaza-based Palestinian NGO mandated “to promote, protect and prevent violations of human rights in general, and economic, social and cultural rights in particular, to provide effective aid to those victims of such violations, and to enhance the quality of life of the community in (Gaza’s) marginalized sectors.”

It monitors and documents violations, provides legal aid and advocacy, and helps Gazans on “fundamental issues such as basic human rights, democracy, and international humanitarian” matters. It also produces reports and publications on its work.

In April, it published a seven-case study update of its July 2008 report titled: “Hiding Behind Civilians – The Continued Use of Palestinian Civilians as Human Shields by the Israeli Occupation Forces.” This article reviews both reports to highlight what international law unequivocally prohibits. Nonetheless, it’s customary IDF practice even though Israel’s Supreme Court banned it on October 6, 2005.

One Palestinian woman described her experience:

“They handcuffed and blindfolded me. Then, they forced us to move out of the room, pushing me with their hands and guns to move although I was blindfolded and pregnant. I heard them pushing others to hurry up as well. I got exhausted and fell down many times. I told them that I was four months pregnant and couldn’t continue but a soldier threatened to shoot me.”

Other witness testimonies related similar stories, at times with tragic consequences for its victims. Israel is a party to various human rights laws and conventions. As a result, it’s obligated to respect and protect the rights of people it controls.

Under Article 3 of the UN General Assembly’s 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR): “everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.”

Under Article 5: “no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.”

Under Article 9: “no one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.”

The General Assembly’s 1977 International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) affirms the same rights. Under Article 17: “no one shall be subjected to arbitrary or unlawful interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence.”

Both international humanitarian law (IHL) and international human rights law (IHRL) protect life, well-being and dignity. ILH deals with armed conflicts while IHRL applies to peace as well as war. Hague and Geneva Conventions comprise the main body of IHL, and strike a balance between military necessity and humanitarian considerations. As an occupying power, Israel is obligated under them.

Fourth Geneva protects civilians in war time, including those in Occupied Palestine. It restricts the use of force and prohibits seizing non-combatants as hostages, including persons who’ve laid down their arms or can’t fight because of illness, injury or any other reason.

Article 34 states: “the taking of hostages is prohibited.” Article 28 states: “the presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations.” Article 29 states: “the Party to the conflict in whose hands protected persons may be, is responsible for the treatment accorded to them by its agents, irrespective of any individual responsibility which may be incurred.”

Protocol I, Article 51, paragraph 7 states: “the presence or movements of the civilian population or individual civilians shall not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations, in particular in attempts to shield military objectives from attacks or to shield, favor or impede military operations.” In other words, using civilians as human shields is prohibited under all circumstances.

Further, the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) Rome Statute, Article 8 prohibits the “Taking of hostages.” Israel isn’t a Court member but is obligated under international law. Nonetheless, it flaunts it with impunity.

Al Mezan collected sworn testimonies of people’s homes seized and used as military posts for days with their residents confined for prolonged periods, beaten and abused, prevented from normal activities, and put in harm’s way.

Another practice was called the “neighbor procedure,” later changed to “the prior warning procedure” to get around a Court prohibition. Israel commandeers civilians, has them knock on neighbors’ doors, usually at night, to deliver military orders to submit to arrest. Hostages are put in harm’s way when violence at times erupts that may result in deaths or injuries.

Finally the practice was banned, but Israel blatantly disregarded its own High Court ruling as well as its clear obligation under IHL. It continues to use civilian men, women and children as human shields.

During the Second Intifada (especially for Israel’s large-scale West Bank Operation Defensive Shield incursion), Amnesty International (AI) said the following in October 2005:

AI “investigated tens of cases where the Israeli army used Palestinians, children as well as adults, as ‘human shields’ during military operations in towns and refugee camps throughout the Occupied Territories. Palestinians were forced to walk in front of Israeli soldiers who, at times, fired their weapons while shielding themselves behind the civilians. As well (they) were made to enter houses ahead of Israeli soldiers to check for explosives or gunmen hiding inside, to inspect suspicious objects, to stay in their houses when Israeli soldiers took them over to use as sniper positions, or to enter the houses of wanted, possibly armed, Palestinians to tell them to surrender to Israeli forces.”

B’Tselem reports that Israel routinely uses “human shields (as) an integral part of the orders received by Israeli soldiers….” Al Mezan documented “dozens of cases” in Gaza in spite of specific High Court prohibitions, usually at times of incursions. Case studies below refute Israeli claims about respecting civilians, not using them as shields, and abiding strictly according to international and its own case law.

Israeli officials lie. As standard practice, they seize Palestinian civilians randomly, including women and young children, then force them into harm’s way. Usually to:

– let soldiers commandeer their homes as military posts and for sniper positions;

– check for possible booby-traps in buildings;

– order occupants inside to leave;

– remove suspicious objects anywhere soldiers may go;

– shield them from gunfire or thrown rocks; and

– perform whatever other tasks soldiers order under very real threats they’ll be shot if they refuse.

Orders to conduct these practices come from top commanders, not soldiers in the field.

Case Study Examples – 2008 and 2009

Number 1

On July 10, 2008, the IDF forced Rana Mofeed Awad An-Nabaheen, age 11, to visit a relative’s house delivering orders to leave. On return, she was shot in the stomach by other soldiers, unaware she was acting under orders. Family member Mahir Hamdan Mheisin An-Nabaheen provided eyewitness sworn testimony. At about 4:30AM, vehicles, helicopters and gunfire woke him.

“I peeked through a window and saw Israeli soldiers breaking into my family member’s house and forcing them to get out.” Rana delivered orders to leave. He then heard heavy gunfire. “I peeked out and saw Rana near the gate screaming and saying: ‘I am injured.’ I stepped back into the house and gave her my hand….I pulled her back into the house. The gunfire became heavier. I left Rana bleeding and took cover behind a wall. Rana crawled two steps and lay on the floor….I saw her entrails coming out of her abdomen.
A physician in military uniform came, brought a bandage, and put it on her abdomen. The commander fastened Rana to a carrier, then ordered two soldiers to carry her.” This case is typical of many others.

Number 2

It involves the arrest of civilians, including a pregnant woman, from the As-Sreij neighborhood in eastern Al-Qarara village in Khan Younis. They were held in an agricultural field and forced to accompany soldiers towards the separation border. The men were detained, women and children ordered to leave. They were shot at en route, then used as human shields during the operation. Out of fear of reprisals, the witness remained anonymous.

On April 3, 2008, at 7:30AM, her husband wasn’t answering his mobile at the time an Israeli force entered the area where he was working. She rushed there with his ID card. “When I was on my way, I heard somebody shouting and ordering me to stop and come towards him….I tried to explain that I had come to give my husband his ID card but they threatened to shoot me.”

“They led me to a room where I saw seven men and a woman with her two daughters, who were detained. The men were handcuffed and blindfolded. They handcuffed and blindfolded me. Then, they forced us to move out of the room, pushing me with their hands and guns although I was blindfolded and pregnant….They stopped for a while and took off my blindfold….I saw them taking the men across the border, and then heard one of them ordering us to leave the area….I heard heavy gunfire.”

“I had to crawl for a long time to leave the area….I found (soldiers) who forced me to stop. I tried to explain what happened but they threatened to shoot me and forced me to sit down with a child of (a) family….One soldier forced the child to take his shirt off and tied his hands with it. There were many explosions and intensive firing.”

“I managed to go home at around 13:00 on the same day. My husband returned home at around 21:00 on the same day. I knew he was detained in a military post close to the border line.”

This is another human shield example that “demonstrates the complete disregard of the soldiers for the life of a pregnant woman and her unborn child.” They were used as cover for Israeli forces to withdraw from the area.

Other cases were of medical teams forced to carry out life-threatening tasks, homes used as military posts and their residents as human shields, and a 14 year old boy used for the same purpose.

On April 9, 2009, Al Mezan presented an updated report, containing seven new case studies “based on comprehensive field investigations and witness statements,” these based on incidents during Operation Cast Lead and one earlier in 2008.

“In endangering the lives of civilian men, women and children through systematically using them as human shields, the (IDF committed) crimes against humanity according to IHL.” This is one of many violations against non-combatant Palestinian civilians.

Number 1: 15-year-old child used as a human shield

After being used for that purpose, the child was detained in a hole in the ground with about 100 others for four days. He now suffers from serious mental health difficulties and refuses to speak to strangers. With help from his parents, Al Mezan got him to tell his story and presented excepts from it below. At home with his parents, he was terrified by days of conflict.

“I was lying on the floor sheltering with my mother.” His uncle then said: ‘Come downstairs.’ “So we all went downstairs. As soon as we opened the door, I saw a large number of soldiers. One of them was pointing his weapon at me….I saw my uncle and brothers lined up against the wall. I saw the soldier signaling at me to stand beside them. So I did….he wanted me to put my hands up. So I did. Another soldier came and searched me from top to bottom….He tied my hands to the hands of the people next to me.”

“I stood by the wall. A few minutes later one of the soldiers came and kicked me. About two hours later, they ordered us to walk….they made us go into Khalil al-Attar’s house….Then they told us all go, as a chain, into one of the rooms.” They took us outside the house….I heard the sound of a huge explosion in the area. From there they took us to a farm.”

“They made us sit on the ground until dawn the following day. Then they took us outside the field (and) blindfolded my eyes….they led us to a low-lying area. They made us sit on the ground….They tied my hands in front of my stomach. They searched me a third time and made me sit on the ground….After they took of my blindfold….I realized where the low-lying area was. It was a hole made by Israeli forces….south of the American school.”

“We spent the whole night in this hole. I couldn’t sleep. The weather was really cold and I wasn’t wearing a lot of clothing. We stayed in this hole for four days….I could hear the sound of shooting and explosions” close by. We got one meal each afternoon….”On the third day I saw a soldier making a wire fence around the hole (and bring) a lot of people to the hole until the number reached around 100. On the morning of the fourth day, an Israeli soldier untied me, my brother Ali, my cousins Hussein and Khalil. They told us and the women to go to Jabalia.

Case 2: Majdi al-Abed Ahmed Abed Rabbo, male, age 40

On January 5 at 9:30AM, he was at home when he heard a loud sound and someone say, “Open the door….I arrived at the door and opened it. I was surprised to see an (IDF) soldier hiding behind a man in his twenties and pointing a gun at me. He said in Arabic, ‘Take off your pants.’ I took” them off. He ordered him to strip naked, then get dressed. About “15 – 20 Israeli soldiers then entered the courtyard of my house….one grabbed my neck from behind and put his gun to the back of my head.”

“Two other soldiers hid behind me….They told me to lead them to the roof, where they searched pigeon coups that I keep in two rooms there.” A soldier then asked about the adjacent house, belonging to his cousin and connected to his home by a common roof. “There’s no space between the two houses, just the wall.”

“After that, one of the soldiers brought a demolition tool and said, ‘Drill a hole there.’….Then three soldiers went through the hole to (his cousin’s) house.” He was told to come as well along with more soldiers, then told, “Get up. Get up,” and grabbed violently. “I got up and entered with them through the hole back to my roof, and they all went as a group down the stairs. This happened quickly….The whole group was running.”

“The soldiers led me outside. I found myself in a mud road….One of the soldiers was holding me and making me run with him. Another soldier was bringing the young man with him the same way, and (he) had his hands tied. They pushed me in the mosque through its main door to the north….They tied my hands in front of my stomach and tied my legs and sat me down (in one corner). We entered the house adjacent to the mosque. They took us out and turned us toward another house,” then sat us down nearby.

In one house, a soldier said, there were gunmen and we killed them. “Go take their clothes off and bring their guns and come back.”

“I refused. I asked him to let me return to my family. I said to him:” going into that house “means death, and I don’t want to die.” The soldier responded, ‘You are here to do what we tell you (and said) Go.’

“I walked about 200 meters to the house….I went in…I went alone….but couldn’t find anyone. I expected the worst.” He encountered three armed men wearing badges saying Al Qassam Brigades. He said he was forced to come. They told him to go back and say what he saw – “three gunmen in the house, still alive….then the soldier said to me, ‘The officer says he’s crazy and if you are lying to him he swears by his mother he will shoot you.”

“A short time later, I heard the sound of heavy gunfire nearby. Twenty minutes passed….and a soldier said to me; ‘We killed them now. Go get them.’ I refused. I told them that they had told me that if I returned they would kill me, and he shouted at me: ‘We killed them.’ ”

He went again and found one man seriously injured and bleeding and the others alive. He reported back what he saw, then heard heavy gunfire and a very loud explosion. A soldier said; ‘Go and make sure they are dead. We bombed the house again with planes….”With difficulty, I entered the apartment. Inside, I saw the three men still living, but they were under the rubble.”

Majdi al-Abed Ahmed Abed Rabbo located his wife and children after the IDF released him. His home was totally destroyed by military bulldozers, and he’s deeply distressed. Numerous other examples are similar to his account – human shields illegally used by IDF soldiers in violation of international law and Israel’s High Court ruling.

Conclusions

The above cases are examples of customary Israeli practice in gross violation of international law and Israel’s High Court ruling. They endanger civilian lives and cause “long-lasting psychological trauma.”

IHL considers using civilian human shields a war crime and when used systematically against non-combatants a crime against humanity. It’s essential to hold parties guilty of these crimes accountable as the way to stop this heinous practice.

Al Mezan condemns Israel’s disregard for the law and says that “the continued failure of the international community to fulfill its obligations and its silence on Israeli violations encourages” similar acts in the future – by Israel and others engaged in this outrageous practice.

Amid much controversy, the Northeast Intelligence Network was the first “legitimate” Western web site that provided the West the ability to view al Qaeda “beheading” videos. We did so at that time as we believed that Americans and the people of the West were being deceived by Islamic apologists and others who depicted the Islamic method of execution as relatively quick and painless. The beheadings were referenced in media in an almost cavalier manner, failing to reflect the truly vicious nature of the act and the Islamists who performed the act. he truth is that the beheadings performed in accordance with Islamic (Sharia) law are anything but – they are absolutely horrific and gruesome – and represent unspeakable evil.

Years have gone by but the beheadings have continued. Much like the reality of 9/11, the murders of individuals at the hands of Islamists doling out punishment under Sharia seem to have become a distant memory. The execution this week of three “spies” by the Taliban in Pakistan was filmed and uploaded so it could be shared – as an Islamic rallying cry – with other Islamists who want to see the implementation of Worldwide Sharia.

In a country that has steadily stripped away rights of American citizens under the guise of keeping them safe from terrorists, even the simplest minded of people would have to say that national security in the US is seriously lacking if not a open gate to terrorists entering the country. It is also proving to be a paradox with no explanation available other than, we are being lied to in order to push an unseen agenda or some people in our government are seriously corrupt.

The head of DHS, Janet Napolitano recently publicly blamed Canadian Immigration and Border Services for an imaginary influx of Middle Eastern terrorists into the United States. In her statement she spoke in a past tense manner stating:

“Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it’s been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there.”

This statement places the blame on the shoulders of the US Customs and Border Patrol as well as the Canadian agencies. I think it was a very irresponsible statement and only indicates that Napolitano is either inept or she is involved in corruption herself possibly stemming from her prior tenure as governor of Arizona. Someone needs to investigate this matter immediately. If Napolitano is going to convince anyone she is deserving of keeping her job, something must change immediately.

Why the head of DHS would even mention Canada while we are facing a crisis on our southern border with Mexico is beyond me. The problem isn’t north, the border problem is south.  Napolitano was the former governor in Arizona, that states border being one our largest security holes.  Napolitano, more than anyone else in Washington DC should be aware that the issue lies at the southern border, not the northern border. For her to ignore this is highly questionable.

The federal government has steadily been interweaving and meshing US military forces and federal agencies into state and local law enforcement agencies yet they have not utilized these troops or even state National Guard troops at the US/Mexican border. Does that not strike anyone as odd? I have a real issue with the Military

being involved in law enforcement random stops, road blocks and searches within the US as we are not a military state. It is setting a dangerous precedent.

However, I don’t have a problem with placing the military at the border and shutting the border down altogether as to illegal crossings outside of authorized checkpoints. The job of the military is to protect the country, not enforce civil law within the country directed at American citizens. Under martial law, the roles change and unfortunately, it is as if we are being mentally conditioned and are becoming accepting of seeing military troops in battle fatigues, fully armed moving about our cities and towns. Yet an obvious border threat is being blatantly ignored. Why? It isn’t NAFTA or Napolitano wouldn’t have slammed Canada in her statements. Canada is a huge trading partner. So why?

The government, the mainstream media and even local law enforcement are covering up horrendous crimes happening everyday in Arizona, New Mexico and California. Our law enforcement people and citizens are being threatened, injured and killed almost every day either in Mexico or worse yet, within the US. This shouldn’t be happening period.

Drug dealers are moving huge quantities of drugs across the border into the US twenty four hours a day. Huge caches of weapons are moving both ways across the border. Border Patrol has had their hands tied by the government to where they don’t stand a chance out there yet meanwhile, funding and manpower for the border is not enough to stem the tide.

The corruption in the Mexican government is well known yet one has to look deep into our side of the equation and question why there is no serious enforcement from the US side, from the federal level. The lack of interest from DHS in securing the border can only mean one or two things. There is large scale corruption in our government or we are being set up for terrorist infiltration and attacks utilizing the southern border, to further another agenda of the government.

The drugs being shipped are for use in the US and for further distribution through the US into other parts of the world. The other REAL NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE is the movement of humans and other cargo across the border from Mexico. You cannot tell me that you have the national security of the US as your primary objective and meanwhile leave the US/Mexican border as it is currently. You cannot convince me that you have the best interest of the United States and her citizens at heart with the US/Mexican border as it is.

We are pissing away “stimulus” money on irrelevant crap across the board yet we are not dumping the money and manpower needed to secure the southern border. There is no point to the trillions of dollars we are throwing away on bad investments for the US, fighting terrorist overseas, running up our military budget, meddling in the business of the rest of the world if we are wide open for infiltration and attack right here on US soil through a thousand mile wide gate at our southern border. Why in the hell would someone want to chase a terrorist group in some third world country when we could be chasing them , stopping, arresting or killing right here at our own border?  Once you have secured the homeland at its perimeter, then we can discuss how to nail them at the source overseas. As a matter of policy, the national security of the US should begin at home.

Shouldn’t the safety of our own border and our people right here be priority one?

The point is, don’t try to sell me “National Security” as the reason for stripping away our rights when you are blatantly neglecting to protect our perimeter. I don’t buy it.

Asian health officials went on alert Sunday as a flu strain that has killed dozens of people in Mexico appeared to have spread to New Zealand, underscoring warnings of a potential pandemic.

Governments across the region, which has in recent years been at the forefront of the SARS and bird flu epidemics, stepped up checks at airports and urged the public to be on guard for symptoms of the new multi-strain flu.

Ten New Zealand students who recently traveled to Mexico are “likely” to have contracted swine fever, Health Minister Tony Ryall said Sunday — the first suspected cases in the region of more than three billion people.

They were among a group of three teachers and 22 students from Auckland who returned home on Saturday. Thirteen students and one teacher had displayed flu-like symptoms and were quarantined in their homes while undergoing tests.

“Ministry of Health officials advise me there is no guarantee these students have swine influenza, but they consider it likely,” Ryall said.

Samples from the students, who already tested positive for influenza A, were being sent to a World Health Organisation (WHO) laboratory in Melbourne, Australia to determine whether they had swine flu, Ryall said.

Mexican officials said the death toll from the new strain had probably risen to 81, while 10 people were believed infected in the United States and there were two possible cases in France.

The WHO warned Saturday that the virus had the potential to become a pandemic, labeling the current outbreak “a public health emergency of international concern.”

In Japan, airports tightened checks on passengers arriving from Mexico, with quarantine officials giving out face masks and using thermography imaging cameras to screen passengers for signs of fever.

Health officials handed out leaflets to those headed for Mexico and the United States, urging them to wear face masks and wash their hands regularly, while a health ministry hotline attracted some 400 calls.

Agriculture minister Shigeru Ishiba appealed for calm, saying that the drug Tamiflu “is very effective. We have enough stockpiles in Japan.”

South Korea followed suit, ordering all passengers on flights from virus-hit nations to pass through a strengthened quarantine check with a test kit at the airports.

Authorities also put Mexican and US pork in quarantine to check for the disease.

Australia urged people who had recently returned from Mexico and had developed flu-like symptoms to seek medical advice.

China and Hong Kong bore the brunt of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2003 that killed nearly 800 people, most of them in Asia, bringing air travel here to a near-standstill and battering the region’s economies.

The same year, the H5N1 strain of bird flu re-appeared in Asia.

It has since killed 257 people, according to the World Health Organisation, and officials have long warned that the virus could become a global pandemic if it mutates into a form that is easily transmissible between humans.

The Chinese health ministry said it was “paying close attention” to the situation, studying inspection and quarantine measures to guard against the spread of the latest flu strain.

In Hong Kong, health officials said checks at border crossings had been stepped up and that airlines had been asked to broadcast messages on all flights coming direct from affected areas.

Indonesia, which has recorded the most deaths from bird flu of any country, said it was checking that thermoscanners were working at all ports and airports.

Thailand’s Public Health Minister, Witthaya Kaewparadai, said authorities were “monitoring the epidemic closely” and advised people travelling to Mexico and the United States to take advice from the ministry.

Highlighting the potential role of international air travel in spreading the virus, a British Airways cabin crew staff member was being treated in a London hospital with flu-like symptoms after arriving on a flight from Mexico City.

Governments around the world rushed on Sunday to check the spread of a new type of swine flu that has killed up to 81 people in Mexico and infected around a dozen in the United States.

Mexicans huddled in their homes while U.S. hospitals tracked patients with flu symptoms and other countries imposed health checks at airports as the World Health Organization warned the virus had the potential to become a pandemic.

The epidemic has snowballed into a monster headache for Mexico, already grappling with a violent drug war and economic slowdown, and has quickly become one of the biggest global health scares in years.

Mexico’s tourism and retail sectors could be badly hit. A new pandemic would deal a major blow to a world economy already suffering its worst recession in decades.

In New Zealand, 10 pupils from an Auckland school party that had returned from Mexico were being treated for influenza symptoms in what health authorities said was a likely case of swine flu, although they added none was seriously ill.

The WHO declared the flu a “public health event of international concern.” WHO Director-General Dr. Margaret Chan urged greater worldwide surveillance for any unusual outbreaks of influenza-like illness.

“(We are) monitoring minute by minute the evolution of this problem across the whole country,” Mexican President Felipe Calderon said as health officials counted suspected infections in six states from the tropical south to the northern border.

While all the deaths so far have been in Mexico, the flu is spreading in the United States. Eleven cases were confirmed in California, Kansas and Texas, and eight schoolchildren in New York City caught a type A influenza virus that health officials say is likely to be the swine flu.

The new flu strain, a mixture of various swine, bird and human viruses, poses the biggest risk of a large-scale pandemic since avian flu surfaced in 1997, killing several hundred people. A 1968 “Hong Kong” flu pandemic killed about 1 million people globally.

New flu strains can spread quickly because no one has natural immunity to them and a vaccine takes months to develop.

TRAVELLERS SCREENED

Countries across Asia, which have had to grapple with deadly viruses like H5N1 bird flu and SARS in recent years, snapped into action. At airports and other border checkpoints in Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan, officials screened travelers for any flu-like symptoms.

In China, officials assured people that conventional measures in place were adequate to contain the new threat.

“The measures we’ve been taking against bird flu are effective for this new type of disease,” said Wang Jing of the China Inspection and Quarantine Science Research Institute, in comments carried by state media.

Argentina declared a health alert, requiring anyone arriving on flights from Mexico to advise if they had flu-like symptoms.

Russia imposed curbs on meat imports from Mexico, some U.S. states and the Caribbean, while the United Arab Emirates said it was considering similar action.

In Brussels, the European Commission said no cases of the new swine flu had been reported so far in Europe. “Until now we have no reported cases in Europe. We are following very closely the situation as it evolves,” a spokeswoman for the European Union executive said.

In France, two people returning from Mexico who had flu-like symptoms were being tested, French public health director Didier Houssin told RTL radio.

A French health ministry spokeswoman said there were two unconfirmed cases but declined to give further details.

A British Airways cabin crew member was taken to hospital in London after developing flu-like symptoms on a flight from Mexico, but tests later cleared him of swine flu.

Mexican Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova said the swine flu had killed at least 20 and possibly as many as 81 people in Mexico, and more than 1,300 people were being tested for suspected infection. Most of the dead were aged 25 to 45, a worrying sign because a hallmark of past pandemics has been high fatalities among healthy young adults.

TOURISTS IN FACE MASKS

In the crowded Mexican capital of 20 million people museums were closed and public events scrapped, from concerts to a running race. Sunday soccer matches were closed to spectators.

Locals hoarded bottled water and canned food, churchgoers were told to stay home and follow Sunday services on television and bewildered tourists were made to wear surgical face masks.

“It’s all a bit alarming because as a tourist you don’t know if you’re going to be allowed home. It’s worrying because there’s not much information,” said 29-year-old Sandy Itriago, waiting at a tour bus stop with her parents.

Nightclubs closed on Saturday night along with stadiums and cinemas. At least one open bar stationed medics at its doors to check clients’ throats and take their temperatures.

All schools in the city, Mexico State and San Luis Potosi were closed until May 6 and some companies planned to have employees work from home.

I am making a plea to everyone who reads this, please, please DO NOT TAKE ANY VACCINE THAT IS PURPORTED TO ‘PREVENT’ THIS FLU.

Remember 1976 and the so called Swine Flu outbreak that was purported to be a coming pandemic? It only infected recruits at Ft. Dix. Why? Because I believe that the so called Swine Flu virus infected the recruits due to the vaccines they were given. Whether the government developed the Swine Flu 1976 virus and infected the recruits as a means to test the public to see if people would comply with a call to take vaccination against Swine Flu, or the recruits became infected via contaminated vaccine they were given as part of the recruit regimen, that outbreak was as phony as they come. I was one of the people duped into taking a Swine Flu shot and it made me so sick. I was sick in bed for three months after taking the vaccine.

Do not take seasonal flu vaccine if you are told that it could help prevent this brand new Swine Flu variant. It won’t do a thing to prevent this flu. What it will do is serve up new genetic material to the Swine Flu virus that I have dubbed Spanish Flu 2, the Sequel. The Spanish Flu variant will use the gene sequences in the vaccine in humans to develop more of the changes that make the virus more readily infect humans. We do not want to give this virus more human genetic material so that it will infect humans more readily person to person. This is what vaccinated individuals do for pandemic strains.

There is also a safety issue in any experimental vaccine, much like the one in 1976. Some people even feel that such a vaccine for pandemic strain might require more than one vaccination which could actually be a binary set up. The first shot might just add some genetic code that stays dormant in the body until one gets the second vaccine shot which then serves to only cause infection. It could trigger Guillain-barre syndrome, Typhus or some other condition.

An Influenza vaccine does not protect or prevent a person from contracting flu. It is purported to, maybe, prevent some complications of flu and maybe shorten duration. I am not even sure it does that. Personally, I feel the vaccine weakens our immune system and also sickens us due to contaminants in the vaccine. I feel that people can better protect themselves by washing hands often and thoroughly. People should also use protective gloves when out and about during epidemics. Don’t be afraid of “looking odd.” I would not be ashamed to use a mask and gloves. I see that the Mexicans are using them.

A big problem during a pandemic is that these simple supplies will become extremely scarce awfully quickly. Stock up now. Medical supplies. personal hygene supplies and don’t forget fido, or any other pet. Once a pandemic hits, it will be too late to stock up. Water, too.

We may lose clean water and electric power, so be prepared.

So, please, people, DON’T TAKE ANY VACCINES OFFERED.  THEY COULD KILL YOU BEFORE ANY VIRUS KILLS YOU.

British soldiers tortured and murdered up to 20 Iraqis in cold blood, the High Court was told yesterday.

It happened after a three-hour gun battle at an Army checkpoint near Basra, a lawyer claimed.

Rabinder Singh said a group of local men were taken prisoner and transported to an Army camp where they were beaten with a rusty tent pole, punched, slammed against walls, denied water, blasted with loud music and forced to strip naked in the presence of a woman – a humiliation for Muslim men.

The next day, he said, only nine were still alive – and 20 corpses were returned to their families. One was teenager Hamid Al-Sweady.

The Army claims the men all died in the initial gun battle, but Hamid’s uncle Khuder Al-Sweady and five survivors of the incident yesterday began a court battle in London to win an independent inquiry.

The clash in May 2004 came after insurgents launched a heavy attack on a checkpoint known as Danny Boy in Al Majar-al-Kabir – the town north of Basra where six military policeman had been murdered the previous year.

According to Army accounts, the soldiers were heavily outnumbered but fought back heroically, mounting a bayonet charge at one point, until the attackers were defeated. The Army says only nine Iraqis were taken away alive for questioning.

But Mr Singh said that when the shooting was over, the British troops took bloody revenge. He said: ‘It is the claimants’ case that at least some of those captured were tortured and killed by British troops between 14 and 15 May 2004, and that there has been no effective investigation into what happened to them in that 24-hour period.

‘This constitutes a substantive and procedural breach of the European Convention on Human Rights.’

He added: ‘There is a lot of evidence from soldiers at the battlefield that there were more than nine that were taken alive.

‘Many of the bodies of the Iraqis returned on 15 May 2004 were severely disfigured and some appeared to show marks of torture and mutilation.’

The Ministry of Defence says a tenmonth Royal Military Police investigation showed the 20 dead were killed in the initial battle. The corpses were taken to be identified before being returned to their families, with no evidence of torture. The hearing continues

As the nation struggles to make sense of a wave of new revelations regarding the “harsh interrogation techniques” brought to bear on detainees by the CIA, two very different narratives are shaping up to describe the treatment of captured al Qaeda member Abu Zubaydah in April and May of 2002.

On one hand, there is what might be called the “official” version, as presented in a timeline released by the Senate Intelligence Committee and summarized by the Washington Post. According to this version, Abu Zubaydah was subjected only to traditional interrogation methods until an August 1 memo from Justice Department lawyer Jay Bybee gave a green light for the use of waterboarding and other aggressive techniques.

On the other, there is a far more incriminating narrative that has been pieced together by various observers over the last several years. In this version, harsher methods were being applied to Abu Zubaydah as early as mid-April, and by mid-May he had been subjected to virtually every aggressive technique short of waterboarding.

This second version appears to be supported by a number of external facts. One is that in 2005, the CIA destroyed all videotapes of Abu Zubaydah’s interrogation from prior to August 1, even though taping had begun in April.

There were also two peculiar episodes of heightened security alerts in the US in April and May, which were said at the time to have been based on information obtained from Abu Zubaydah. These vague and ultimately implausible threats gave a strong impression that Abu Zubaydah might have been inventing al Qaeda plots simply to satisfy his interrogators.

The interrogation of Abu Zubaydah

All parties appear to agree that following Abu Zubaydah’s capture in Pakistan on March 28, 2002, CIA and FBI agents immediately began questioning him using traditional rapport-building interrogation techniques. He quickly proved willing to discuss al Qaeda plans and philosophy in general terms and even named Khalid Sheikh Mohammed as the mastermind of 9/11.

However, the CIA soon came to believe that Abu Zubaydah was withholding information about more specific, imminent threats, and lawyers from the CIA, the National Security Council, and the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel began discussing alternative interrogation plans.

In May, the CIA formally asked the OLC to furnish an opinion on the legality of waterboarding and other techniques derived from the the Defense Department’s Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training program.

The official version of the story insists that these alternative plans were not put into effect until after the August 1 Bybee memo had provided legal cover for harsher measures. In contrast, alternative sources provide a wealth of information which suggests that the policy towards Abu Zubaydah had begun shifting much earlier.

According to a lengthy article published in Vanity Fair in July 2007, by mid-April the CIA had begun implementing a plan to extract information from Abu Zubaydah by breaking down his personality. This plan was designed by two psychologists, James Elmer Mitchell and Bruce Jensen, who had no prior experience with interrogation. Both had come out of the military’s SERE program, which had been designed to train US personnel to resist attempts to break them if they were captured by enemies.

The SERE program was originally developed to mimic the brainwashing techniques which were used by the Chinese on captured Americans during the Korean War and which were intended to induce false confessions rather than accurate intelligence.

Former SERE trainer and military interrogator Colonel Steven Kleinman, who is quoted in the Vanity Fair article, has been speaking out widely about the “shocking” nature of the CIA decision to hire Mitchell and Jensen. He recently told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, “There’s a lot of people who don’t understand the difference between a model that would train people to resist harsh interrogation … and intelligence interrogation which is designed to elicit cooperation.”
